Pretty vs Ugly

Do you know that people who are pretty and people who are ugly are being treated differently in many situations? If you don't trust me, try being pretty and try being ugly! You'll notice the difference! And of course, being ugly is definitely not a good choice! because pretty people get the "extra-good" treatment by just being pretty! It's so unfair...

But never change yourself just for the sake of someone else.
if they never liked you for who you are, do you think they would like you for who you aren't really are, your mask? It's a fool's facade.

what makes you think that if they don't like you for who you are, they won't like you for who you aren't really are?

Because I believe being sincere is the best way to present yourself to the people out there. If you are not going to be true to yourself, you might as well not be truthful at all.

Try wearing the mask. It suffocates.

How you read one? the title is pretty vs ugly. I think you got the post wrong la... Being ugly and pretty doesn't mean you have to change your attitude la... What's with the suffocate thing? You mean pretty people not sincere to themselves and being pretty suffocates? By being pretty they are not true to themselves?! What if that person is pretty without wearing mask??? Will that person also suffocates?

Okay, I shall express my standpoint here: Being pretty or ugly is not superficial; it goes deep within a person. When judging someone as being pretty, he or she has to meet standards of both inner and outer beauty. When one does not meet the expectations of another, they are deemed ugly, yes? When he drops into that category he decides to change; change is good, however when it's against his own values, he changes according to others' demands, I say he's no longer being who he is.
and the suffocating, that's what happens when you try to be someone not you. It restricts yourself, you have to watch your every action, worrying what others might think, trying that hard to maintain a false image everyday, isn't that pitiful?

Maybe when you had the post in mind, you were just referring to superficial prettiness and ugliness. Please pardon my inept interpretation.

"Being pretty or ugly is not superficial", I disagree. Even cambridge dictionary defines pretty as pleasant to look at... Maybe that's your definition, but my definition for inner beauty is a good/kind person and has nothing to do with that person's outer beauty. In this post, ugly means not pretty physically. No hidden meaning la... How come you can interpret pretty as not being oneself I also don't understand...

"Not meeting standard of both inner and outer beauty", if that's the case, how you define a person who meets the standard of inner beauty but does not meet the standard for outer beauty? And what's your standard? May be a person that is "good" may be deemed "bad" for other people...

When one does not meet the expectations of another, they are deemed ugly, yes?
NO! Even that person does not meet my expectations, that person might still be pretty physically.

"When he drops into that category he decides to change; change is good, however when it's against his own values, he changes according to others' demands, I say he's no longer being who he is." <- I do agree with this... But this has nothing to do with my post... It's way~~ out of my post topic. Sweatness... (-_-)"

"the suffocating, that's what happens when you try to be someone not you. It restricts yourself, you have to watch your every action, worrying what others might think, trying that hard to maintain a false image everyday, isn't that pitiful?" <-
well... I don't pity this kind of people. What they want to do with their life is not my problem. Why do you pity them? But talking about restricting yourself, watch your every action, and worrying about what others might think, those are absolutely not trying to be someone that is not you! Those are the things that we, as humans, should pay attention to in order not to hurt other people. We do restrict ourselves to a certain extent I believe, and that's what I call selflessness. Your actions and thinking is made with regard to yourself and other people, not just based on YOU or OTHERS. And that's makes this world a place that everyone can live in.

Maybe you can repost the comments when I make another post about not being yourself~~ (when I encounter a case about a person not being himself/herself)
